FAQs

Here lies the answers to our most commonly asked questions, with everything you need to know for your visit, from booking information to purchasing gift vouchers. Reading this may save you a phone call, but if you do have any further questions, please give us a call on 01726 74089

Doggy Rules

We are dog friendly! We have treats, toys & chews, local dog walks and even have a doggy menu, so your four-legged friend can feel like one of the family having dinner out. There is once section of the pub that we don’t allow dogs, so please make sure you state on your booking that you are bringing your pooch, se we can allocate a dog friendly table.

Food Times

We serve food all day everyday, from 12pm-9pm. We also do breakfasts Wednesday – Saturday 8am-10.30am, and our Sunday lunch is served every Sunday 12pm-3pm. Booking is always advised as we can never guarantee tables for walk ins during our busy periods.

Our Garden

Our beautiful pub garden is available to sit in all year round, from huddling in the pods wrapped in blankets in the winter, to basking in the sun with a cold pint in the summer. We do NOT take bookings for our garden, so it is first come first served to get tables.

Garden Glamping Pods

Our 3 beautiful glamping pods are perfect for a country getaway, and are available to book all year round. They’re fully equipt with underfloor heating for the winter, and deck chairs & BBQ’s for the summer so they are versatile, whatever the weather. We take all of our bookings through Sykes Cottages, and the links for booking our pods, and more information about them can be found here.

Bookings

We can take bookings via our website, email or over the phone. Our maximum table size is 8 people, and in the summer months we cannot increase that table size (no exceptions between June & September). We have a small kitchen that caters for a large pub, so we cap bookings at a number that we feel the food quality won’t be compromised leaving our kitchen. As all our food is cooked fresh to order, it is a struggle to get over 8 meals out at the same time without the food standard being compromised, or the food wait times increasing. Capping the table size also means we can guarantee that every table gets the same high level of service from our waitresses. We can split large parties across two tables, but this is on the basis that each table has a separate food order, meaning food will come out at different times. Book your table here.

Accessibility

Our pub is inclusive of all our customers access needs, as our main pub area is on a completely flat, level surface. The only steps on the site are to access our garden pods in the pub garden, and up to our glamping pods. We have bigger tables in the pub that are more suited to wheelchair access, so please state this on your booking if required. We have a separate disabled toilet, and 3 roomy disabled car parking spaces to make your visit as practical as possible.

Catering for Allergies

We do our absolute best to cater for as many allergies as we can, and we do have many menu items that suit a wide range of dietary requirements. While we do our best we can, our kitchen is not a ‘free from’ environment (nuts, gluten or the 14 main allergens), and unfortunately we do not have the space to be able to do designate equipment to catering for specific allergies. However, we take every step to make sure cross contamination does not take place, so we can confidently give out allergen information about the menu we serve. Because of this, we don’t have any allergen information printed on our menu, as we like to advise customers at the time of their visit, based on the severity of their intolerance/allergy. Keeping customers safe and confident in what their eating is our top priority. View our menus here.

Gift Vouchers

We sell gift vouchers, they can be up to any amount of your choosing. The vouchers are physical copies rather than emails, so we ask if you’re local to pop in and grab one, but if you live further afield, they can be posted to you. Vouchers have 6 months to be used from the date they’re issued. *We only accept vouchers issued by the Polgooth Inn, not by St Austell Brewery*
